iOS Fonts Resource

iOS offers a lot more fonts to use dynamically for an application than just the standard web fonts. This site iosfonts.com is a great resource for finding the right font for your application. Talk to your engineer, but any of these fonts listed  should work dynamically in your application. This site also gives you the option to preview fonts in text and numbers with up to 260 facets.  You can also look at what fonts are supported in what version of iOS.

Pocket App Icon

I’ve been playing around with the new Pocket app and quite like the idea. Although the application icon was quite lacking in design. The whole 3D icon is a little over rated and I wanted to give some life to the icon. Showing the colors coming out of the “Pocket” makes it feel like there is is some life to the logo. I always feel that a product should not only look good, but also evoke some kind of feeling or emotion, even with application icons.  It’s the entire package of a brand that matters & if one thing is off, the whole product itself can seem off. This is was just a quick representation of what I see in the icon. Using more rounded corners at the bottom with sharp edges at the top. Along with flat and solid colors for the stripes.

You can check out the Dribbble shot too.

Thoughts or suggestions, what would you do differently?

Tiny Monsters Released!

I am so excited to let you see what TinyCo has been working on! TinyCo has just released Tiny Monsters in the App Store. This is by far the most beautiful game TinyCo has made. The animations are incredible, the UI is stunning and clean and the artwork is gorgeous. You must download this, even if it’s just to look at all the incredible artwork. The game play is awesome too. I truly believe this game will change the way our mobile games look in the future.

Melissa Pohl did the UI design. She is extremely talent, and I feel honored that I get to work beside her on a day to day basis and learn from her. She  has to be the most talented UI designer that can illustrate.

Candice Ciesla did the character design. She is such an incredible artist. Seeing her work from Tiny Village to Tiny Monsters shows how broad her art style can truly be. She can draw anything!

There are so many other artists that worked on this game, that made this gorgeous game what it is. A
Great job Monsters Team! I am so proud to be apart of a company that has so much talent like yourselves.
